Pitch Perfomance Reflection [500 words]

Reflection of Pitch Performance

On Friday 23rd October, ‘Team Visionary’ pitched our project idea to our clients at the Brighton Dome for our case-study/promotional event style video which would incorporating the TEDx event hosted there in a week’s time.
Since our project’s core idea and structure for the video from Sadie, myself and Winnie, we thought it would be must suitable for us to communicate our idea to our client in the pitch. This proved to be a strong team decision as members who weren't decided not to speak during the pitch has assisted in other areas for it. For example, Sofanh produced a storyline of shots to go with our hand-out for our client to help them visualise our ideas into a product.. I put myself forward to explain the practical side of our team's project for the pitch where I described to our clients how we would produce our desired idea into an actual product, and the requirements and cooperation we would need from our clients in order to produce a 'visionary' product.

We made sure we looked smart and presentable for the pitch and we all greeted our clients with a smile and a firm handshake. I ensured that I maintained eye contact and good posture throughout our presentation; I wanted to convey to our clients that I was passionate about our project, especially when it was my turn to speak. In terms on how I think my personal performance went during the pitch, I thought my delivery was strong, clear and concise and that I got my points across to the client with clarity.
However, when it came to the stage of questioning from our clients in the pitch, I had to elaborate on how we would construct our tour-like footage around the Brighton Dome. Sadly, my mind went blank whilst retorting to the posed question and I got completely lost for words. Despite my stuttering, Sadie stepped in swiftly and managed to answer the clients question precisely. This showed the clients we were a team who collaborate well together and understood how to execute our idea.

After the pitch, I came out feeling positive and proud of we had delivered as a team, especially since our clients told us they enjoyed our presentation and thought we had a really good concept that kept to their brief before we all left the Founders room.
If I could do the pitch again, I would've spoken more about how we we're going to involve the clients branding in our production as our clients felts this was a vital component we didn’t touch upon too closely in the pitch.
We did receive really positive feedback from our clients about the pitch for our team's project. Our clients stated in one of there emails that:

"Your pitch was very professional and you have taken care to ensure that you have understood our brief - thank you."

This was a real confidence boost for the whole of Team Visionary as this was the first industry-based pitch we had collaborated on and it gave us a sense of pride to be given such praise.
